Blackbutt Raw Timber Flooring

A simple guide to blackbutt timber flooring

Blackbutt is one of the most popular species of timber used in flooring. It is a hard timber measuring 9.1 on the Janka scale. The colour ranges from cream to pale brown and it gives a very contemporary light look to a room.

In our Hutton Street showroom in Osborne Park, we have a large floor display of classic grade Blackbutt, plus shelf mounted boards displaying the four grades available ie. Classic, Standard and Better, Australiana and Feature.

The timber usually comes from New South Wales and this variety is much more readily available than Western Australian Blackbutt which is becoming much more difficult to obtain and is therefore more expensive. We can however source Western Australian Blackbutt depending on availability, please contact us for prices and availability.

*We also stock Blackbutt Wide Board and 2 Strip 14mm Floating floor,  plus an 8mm 2  Strip quality Laminate which is very similar in appearance to Blackbutt.

Sizes available;

  • 80 x 12mm
  • 85 x 14mm
